Round 5 End the Summer with a Blast was how we advertised this event so the always humorus mother nature decided to Sand Blast us, do you think she just got the message mixed up?! Northeast Offroad Classic at Ormond Farms was a SUCCESS! 400+ riders, perfect weather...for a sand storm that is....not even the Nor'east winds could blow off that dust. CLEAN YOUR FILTERS!! We had a great Saturday of racing that turned into a wonderful night rockin' out to the Hammer Heads while we kicked back with friends talkin about the weekend events. The kids played in the bouncys, tug a war and other games with Ms. Anita, she does partys too..... Tim Dennis got great pictures of everyone despite the dust, he is the best! Crazy Ted was hookin' everyone up with goodies. Riders Choice set up shop on the front lawn for everyone. AA Champion #356 Ryan Rodgers schooled the youngins with some great knowledge he has acquired over the years. He is a good rider, good teacher, good role model, good man and soon to be a good father to a baby girl. Good luck to you and your family. Thank you for being good to ours! Lovely Lois once again filled everyones bellies with delicious food, cheese fries were in every kids hands. Despite what the dust was doing to the computers the scoring was perfect. Lady Theresa, Jay & Mina did a fabulous job keeping track and making sure it was 100% correct. They are a great Trio of Computer Goddesses! (sorry Jay, I had to go there!) We can't talk about perfect scoring without giving props to all of our back up crew and our sign up girls, you guys/gals did an excellent job! Every race went off on Key Time. At the end of Main Event the awards were being handed out with in 45 minutes of the last rider. 1:30pm the main event started and by 4:30pm everyone was heading home to enjoy the rest of their holiday weekend. Life don't get any better then that! Brian & Executive Referee Todd made the right call by shortening the times for Sundays races. The decision was made for the safety of the riders and the life of the bikes. Zero visibility is never good tapped out in 5th and dust is an evil thing when it comes to a motor. Chuckie kept everyone informed & entertained all day with his sound system and sultry voice. He also gave a beautiful blessing to start the races and to keep our soldiers safe over seas. We have a lot of riders that have gone over or have a loved one there, so its important we never forget where they are and what they are doing for us whether you agree with it or not. They are our brothers and sisters united through racing and it's always nice to have people like them on your side. We want to thank everyone that donated money to help out Lil' Cory and his family. Renee Sheppard made us proud to be an American when she sang the National Anthem for us. Lovely Lois & Mean Gene, as always, we are grateful for your generosity with your land. Allowing us to use it for what we love is something special. Many kids have had their very first race on your land and that is a memory that will stay with them forever. #218 Tabatha Roser won the Pit Bike. Congrats Girl! Okay, so now lets talk about the Sand bowl.....The Overall winners for the Northeast Classic were AA #356 Ryan Rodgers, C Heavy #240 Kyle Bylsma, AA Youth #300 Kyle McDonal, 7-9 65 #51 Gary Enman, 12 Pointer Pit Biker #9 Chris Curtis, Spike Buck Pit Biker #19 Jeffery Hall. All of you guys should be proud of yourselves for taking the overall. We were honored to give you the trophy and title! We had some great battles out there in the pit and woods. AA was taken by #356 Ryan Rodgers but the battle of the day went to the next in line. 2nd #104 Dane Schoeneberg & 3rd #173 Wesley Becker came to the flag bar to bar. A Senior class was a tight finish 1st #17 Greg Turner & 2nd #44 Alan Jessat showed all those youngins out there that its all about wisdom not the age, well that and a good sit in the hot tub at the end of night for the ol' bones! You guys rock! B Super Senior also proved that wisdom rules over youth 1st #45 Paul Freeman & 2nd #577 Brian Vittorini put on a great show to get the win. C Heavy top two riders came to the checkered flag tire to tire with #240 Kyle Bylsma ahead by a knobby over #509 Travis McGee. AA Youth #104 David Worden took the holeshot and #300 Kyle McDonal took the win. 12-13 85 had a chase between 2nd #291 Jesse Davis & 3rd #160 Corby Gill. 7-9 65 and overall was taken by #51 Gary Enman but the battle of the PeeWees went to 3rd #20 Ryan Hall & 4th #110 Collin Kearney. They were sharing air space (what little there was out there) the whole race. 10-12el 3rd & 4th were going at it the whole race too, #911 John Dwyer finished just ahead of #909 Jonathan Hiles. 4-9el #198 took 2nd place while #199 Trevor Gandy pulled in right behind him but man, the whole race you just weren't sure who was going to the barrels first. These 4 stroke beginner class are incredible! We had a great turn out for our Pit Bike race. The 12 & 10 Pointer Pro Pitsters were putting on a show for us. #9 Chris Curtis put on the biggest show of all though, He donated his winnings to Lil' Cory to help out his family in their time of need. Thank you Chris. It was also a treat to have the Herrschaft boys out there dicing it up. There is nothing like a race with all the Herrschaft men baggin bars together. The youth Pit Bike race is always a fun event. The Spike Buck class is filled with boys that have been racing together for years now and to see them out there having a blast on those little bikes again is nothing but pure heaven! I have to say that it is becoming one of my favorite races to watch. #19 Jeff Hall took the overall trophy home but they are all winners in my eyes! We know that it was tough out there with all the dust and heat choking everyone but other then that is was a top notch day and we are very glad that you chose to spend the holiday weekend here racing with us! Thank You to all our sponsors that hooked us up with goodies for all the riders. MOOSE RACING, Riders Choice, Rizzon Cycles, Fairway Cycle, Offroad Cycle, Scott USA, Town & Country, Water Gap Coffee Company, Klotz, TD Photo Imaging, Bounce Around So. Jersey & Lois Twigg for sharing her slice of Heaven with everyone. I am working on the Pictures & Videos......I will post them as I complete them but give me a couple days to do so....Noel P.S. We want to personnally thank all the Pennsy folk for taking home all the chiggers and ticks with them. Us southern jersey folk appreciate it very much. By the way, nothing helps, they just have to run their course of about two weeks of insane itching and scabs. oh, and they will leave scars......See ya in a month!
