Round 3

April 24th & 25th 2010

The Monster Buck

RESULTS

"Lady T" had ALL results posted Sunday Evening (before night fall). She is Da Bomb!

Check out Your Awesome TD Photo Imaging Monster Buck Photo while you wait for our Videos & Pictures. We are working on everything now. They will be posted as we complete them but give us a couple days to get them all together.

Round 3 Beau’s Monster Buck 4/24 & 25/10. In the week leading up to this event we were glued to the weather channel. Will the fierce storms moving across the country hit us on Friday like they were predicting? Will we have to fight through another wicked weather weekend event? Will no one show up if they are watching the same channel? God Bless the states and families that were hit by the severe storm and tornados it produced. I can’t help but feel blessed and lucky that we only got a small shot Saturday night of what turned out to be a devastating storm to many others. I refuse to bitch about the conditions of the track on Sunday so instead I am going to talk about all the good that happened. True Champions and True Sportsmanship ended the weekend for us but I will start at the beginning……

Saturday morning banners were up, gate was open, parking lot was filling up quickly, little faces were everywhere and the sun was shining bright. 11am our tutor time program was set up out at the whoop section. We are getting so much positive feed back and interest from others that we have decided to alternate classes for tutor time at the remaining races so others can benefit also. I will post on the website ahead of time which class is chosen to participate for the up coming event.

12 noon 34 Little Tikes on Bikes lined across the field to be the first ones to take on the Monster Buck Challenge. We are getting a large variety of bikes, skill level, and ages gathering together for this event. Large enough for us to start thinking we might need to adapt once again to a growing change. We’ll keep you posted. T’s on B’s at MB was A-O-K for the NEOC!

One O’clock came fast but the race for the thirty five Oil Injected youngins was even faster. The fastest running the Monster woods was 7-8 OI #84 Mark Brogen just half a knobby ahead of his best bud #86 Devin Macavoy. These two took their podium finishes together then headed out to go play some baseball together. I hope they both another homerun. Third overall and first place for the second race in a row 4-6 OI #237 Tyler Kowalski is running up in front of the pack with second #89 Wayne Cox and third #642 Allen Adkins right along side of him. The OI classes are any ones game. Points are tight and skill is amazingly off the charts for this age. The first race of the day ended with all friends being on the podium high fiving, bench racing and clapping for each other. True Champions and True Sportsmanship.

By 3pm everyone was in full race mode. 75 Peewees sat on the line eager and ready to take on the challenge that was laid out for them. Now, the overall and winner of our 7-9 65 class has had his fair share of knocks and bad luck but he never quit and never lost faith. I am very proud to tell you that #202 Michael "Mouse" Shaw fought an awesome battle against great competitors and took a well deserved win. Second place #38 Brandon Gahm and third #26 Kyle Tino never let off the fuel coming in second apart behind the leader. In this game of cat and mouse, The Mouse finally won!

Our Thumper was taken on the third lap by points leader #165 Nico Marts leaving second and third to be fought over by #125 Chris Blackburn and #114 Kenny Kaspzak. Great race boys. The 4-8 50 group proved what grit and determination can give you. After fighting their way up through the pack #41 Jason Tino made it to first from seventh and #136 Colby Davis came from eighth to second with third place #228 Michael Beeler holding on to first place until the last lap. Awesome. Shout out to #185 Johnny Manera for making it up to fourth place after a wreck at the holeshot. Our 10-12 EL class #460 Beau Hickman is taking his fill on first and loving it. Our second place gave himself a bump in the points with his best finish ever while #367 Desirae "Dizzy" Shaw chewed his knobbys off for third place. Three in a row with eight more to go. 4-9 EL Ryan Gross is focued and having fun. #288 "Lil’ Coz" Craig Cossaboon took second again on his new bike. It fits him well. Third place was owned by #99 Michael Resch which also happens to be his best finish yet. We are three races into the season and already the skill and competition level is at an all time high and so is their sportsmanship.

5pm We had 70 Adult Pit Bikes on the line ready to take our breath away and man did they ever. Our new Mega Buck class dominated the field. The top three were never more then seconds apart with their Hybrid Horns Shined and Sharpened. #311 Joey Ford (an old school favorite of mine) was first to the gate with-Literally- second place #44 Alan Jessat and third #85 Ryan "Noodle" Klair hot on his hooves. Whew what a race! Right in the middle of all that "I’m the Man" display was Young Buck #393 Philip Morshead flexin his Muscles. Fifth overall was #102 Ol’ Sammy "the Hurricane" Hansen out of the 12 Pointer Pros. New to the pitbike battle was "the Dog #130 Russ Sheppard for sixth overall and second in Young Bucks. Our first Doe Muscled her way right up through the pack #629 Samantha Hill for thirtieth overall. I can’t say enough how great this Pitbike Championship has become. It is one of the races not to be missed. Oh, and P.S., Chuckie and Jay said you guys were on good behavior coming through the barrels this time! Keep up the good work, LOL. Our youth pitbikes have pretty much turned into a Spike Run with a few Button Bucks in the mix. As always, Top two names are the same. #90 Malcolm "High Flyer" Hill and #122 Dillan Abrams came to the barrels in a battle with #198 "Siggy" William Sigler pushing up to third place past #138 Maverick Reiner for fourth.

With all of Saturdays races completed and the course secured for Sunday, we could all let our hair down a have a little fun. About 7:30pm The Hammer Heads fired up their guitars, started beating the drums and belted out some classic tunes. Lady T posted all of Saturdays results and came out on the dance floor to cut some rug (stone) with the gang. 10:30pm the Hammer Heads unplugged the AMPs and went home. We popped 800mg IBP, stuck a pain patch on, sat down, let out a big sigh, laid over and went to sleep.

6am Jeff fired up his diesel generator that was right next to me; Christ-O-Mighty is that thing loud! Brian, Phil, John, Todd, Vern, Gary, Chuckie and all the boys went out to assess the damage so they can make the call they didn’t want to make. Saturday nights steady rain shortened Sundays races by a half hour each so the course would hold up until the end of the main and maybe save a few bikes. Not one person said they thought it was a bad idea by the end of the day.

8:30 am the fastest youth on the coast were lined up elbow to elbow to be the first to survive in the monster bucks lair. AA Youth order finished the way it started with first #10 Tegan Temple, second #3 Robbie Civiletti and a mighty third for #109 thorn "Slappy" Devlin. Our 12-15 100 Winner has been running hard to take his first win #322 Levi Catlett but definitely not without a great battle from second #983 Austin "Timex" Lucas who made his way up from ninth just ahead of #37 Eric "Chainsaw" Wood. Now our 14-15 85 is a bitter sweet announcement for me because I love the top two very dearly so what happened both saddened and gladdened me. First went to #36 Chris "Flash" Gordon who ran an awesome race against a super kid that ran the lead for the entire race to almost take his first win ever, until…..he wiped out on the last turn coming out of the woods. What a disappointing blow for him but he handled it with class and dignity. A True Champion and True Sportsmanship.  12-13 85: As MC Hammer would say "You can’t touch this" #906 Jeremy "Fuzzball" Williams grabbed first place and ran with it like a bass grabs a grub and heads to cover. #58 Gary Enman of Team Caffiene took the lead from jump start for the 10-11 85 class. Second with his best race #158 Earl Miller came in just ahead of #312 Sal Cusimano. Our 13-15 150 class has had the same name at the top this year. #311 Rian Lamanteer is running strong on his 4 stroke. Second place and ’09 10-12 125 Champion has stepped up his game and skill #289 Kevin "Army" Adams. 10-11 65 first place is a super talented kid #141 Trevor "Pouncer" Pritchard. Second was secured by #98 Matthew Cropper. #292 Tyler Tyvinsky owned, lock, stock and barrel, the 10-12 125 class for the second time this year. Now, our ELW has pretty much exploded in size (26 girls) and competition level. These racers have gotten a taste of freshly roosted dirt and they are loving it. First place for the second time this year #314 Emily Zadroga. Second #113 Cassie Check battled it out with #712 Keirsten McDonal who seems to be eating the same breakfast now as her brother "the Bomber". That was not an easy course and it got worse with each lap but these kids met the challenge head on showing no fear. They have made themselves "Thee Youth" to come try and beat!

It’s 11am now and all the C riders have taken their positions and on the line. Todd gave the ten second count, Chuckie dropped the flag and off they went to pick and choose which lines will give them the win. Our first guys to the flag were from the new Industry class #35 Larry Gordon then Mike Lafferty and the Bombers mechanic #991 Adam Burke. Thanks for making that class great on its first year. Third overall and first C Vet was #75 Robert Robbins. Fourth overall and first C Light was a kid I have watched ride since his 65 days #30 Trevor Stevens. Great race. For his third win in a row C Heavy #444 Michael Purificato. Securing second place points #118 Jeffery Pettit takes first in C 4 Stroke. It was three in a row for C Senior #151 Dan May. For our womans class we had some ladies come from Canada to compete with our girls. First place and twenty second overall #995 Felicia Robuchaud ran an awesome race against our #615 Shawn Davidson. From what I am hearing they will be coming back to race with us at the Cow Patty with more riders to join in the fun. They loved our event.

Hey, since we had racers come from Canada to race with us, does that make us "NEOC International?" It’s got a nice ring to it, doesn’t it.

1:30 and it was time for the main event. The C event had done some damage to the course. A section was cut out and others were rerouted to avoid the "tar pits" that had formed. This main event proved to be strictly a thinking mans game. If you did not choose your line carefully then you were definitely going to lose time and a position or two. We thank all the mud fleas that broke their backs out there helping to maintain the course and keep the race going. Our top dogs had experience, skill and wisdom on their side. They made this race look easy. AA #2 Mike Lafferty and #356 Ryan Rodgers displayed to all why they are champions. Yes they won and they are the fastest, there is no question about that, but that’s not what impressed me or made me cheer. From the first lap to checkered flag, Lafferty and Rodgers raced with character and sportsmanship leading the way. Mike wrecked into a tree bad and Ryan stopped to help him until he was able to get back on his bike. With the course being shredded, Mike thought he went off course too much so he waited for Ryan to catch him. They finished the race switching places in a great battle. The last turn they both blasted out of the woods for the checkered. Lafferty took it by a knobby and it was the greatest finish ever. True Champions-True Sportsmanship. Ok yes, there were others out there racing as well. A Heavy #240 Kyle Bylsma took his first win this year. A Light winner #326 Kenny "Too Tall" Tenner was chosen as a top gun on the plaques for a reason. That was three in a row for him. A Vet winner and eighth overall #181 Norman Innis from Fairway Honda took another one home. A Senior #328 Andy Bylsma made it a pair of firsts for the mantle. Earlier I mentioned about riders from Canada coming to race with us. B Light winner and seventh overall #997 Loic Leonard made his country proud. Were glad you made the ride to South Jersey. FYI-his pop also won the A Super Senior #996 Claude Leonard. They breed them fast up north. B Heavy #910 Darren Huff Took the win on the last lap over #85 Ryan "Noodle" Klair when one of those tar pits grabbed a hold of him. A Big shout out to #612 Brent Robbins for taking another win in the school boy. B Vet winner put himself in the points lead #914 Eric Gross. Now the B Senior winner, I think, must be related to superman or something because this guy spent the entire C event cutting new lines, pulling out stuck bikes and rerouting the course. So how he went out and rode the main event and win the class is truly super human. You Da Man #660 Gary Stites.

Our weekend started out positive and ended positive.

True Champions and True Sportsmanship was at the fore front of every event. AWESOME!

See everyone at Round 4 The Cow Patty Berkshire NY Mothers Day Weekend.

Story, Pictures & videos will be posted soon....Whew, what an event. 600+ Riders. Saturday was a Perfect Race day that dreams are made of but because of Saturday nights rain, I do believe that Sunday was probably one of the hardest races to date. It was very technical because of the wet roots that just started breeding like rabbits and the sippy holes that sucked you in faster then a Kirby Vaccum cleaner. If you did not choose your line carefully you found yourself pulling your bike out of the quagmire and spewing words from your mouth that would make your mother faint. I know, because my daughter was out there and I did almost faint!

We would like to thank all the Mud Fleas that lived in the woods on sunday busting there humps rerouting, cutting new lines and helping the stuck riders. You are the people that make the NEOC such a great racing series. You give your Back and Your All!

I want to give a HUGE shout out to Mr. Jeff Hickman for all the hard work he put into his land making sure this race would go off to the best of his ability. We thank you for letting us come onto your slice of heaven and having a great weekend to remember forever!

Okay, One more things before I stick my head into the computer....We  have a Problem. It's a growing problem. It's a good one to have but its still a major issue. WE NEED BIGGER PLACES FOR 2011. We are working hard looking for land but we need help. We are asking all of you to spread the word for us. You know our program and what we stand for so if you know anyone with atleast 200 acres plus with a large enough area for parking please put a word in for us. Word of Mouth is the way we are going to make this happen. Sand & Gravel Companies, Farmers, Mining Companies, Hunting reserves, etc. these types of places are great for our kind of races. You can contact us at NEOC@Comcast.net  with any info or ideas. We thank you in advance for helping us out.
