Rd 10 Beau's Monster Buck Season Finale October 16th & 17th 2010 RESULTS check out TimDs Photos Monster Photos! picture pages & videos are complete. Well what can we say.....Season three is complete. 701 riders came to close out the year on a good note. The weather was perfect and so was the atmosphere. Mother nature sent a beautiful night sky as if to say "job well done NEOC, you have passed each test with my blessing"....also, at exactly 4:30 pm Sunday a very large dead tree fell with a big crashing sound (Big John liked to jump outta his skin) across the trail in the back woods as if to officially signify the closing of our season. What an incredibly amazing year. So many new people are joining and the competition level just absolutley peaked in all the classes. We can not thank the families enough for coming out and taking part in this adventure with us. All of the NEOC Staff and volunteers have sacrificed so much to make this series what it is becoming because they can see the whole picture and love what we see as the potential future. This started out as just a dream that we took a chance at reaching for and so many people joined in on the belief of this dream that it has become a living and breathing thing that is growing and developing into something we never saw or dreamed of before. If we all, as a whole, keep feeding it the right nutrients and proper guidance then there is no imagination that can match what it will become in the end. Lol, hold your breath, throw your hands in the air and enjoy the ride while it lasts! A Sincere Thank You to all of our sponsors that supported us all year to ensure we could continually give back to our riders. HRP Sports, Moose Racing, Scott USA, Skorbordz, Acerbis, Parts Unlimited, TD Photo Imaging, Sunoco Fuels, Fairway Honda, Riders Choice, Racers Edge, Offroad Cycle, Town & Country, Thorns Cycle, Spectro Oils, Advance Treads, South Jersey Truck Accessories, Water Gap Coffee Company, A.B. S Signs, Monkey Butt Powder, Trail Rider Magazine, Rafines Excavating. Special thanks to all of the Land Owners for allowing us to have a series by sharing your cherished land, Riders & Families, NEOC Staff & Volunteers, NJ State Police Racing Control Unit, Millville Police dept., all of the townships, OEM staff & ambulance rescue squads that worked with us to give the people our very best and last but not least Mother Nature for ending our season with a beautiful breezy blue skied weekend. Oct 16th & 17th weekend was our round 10 and the season finale at Beau's Monster Buck in Cedarville New Jersey. What a wonderful way to end a fabulous year of racing. This was our third season as a racing organization so we all knew what to do and what to expect but experience never prepares you for the emotional aspect that goes along with an end to a season. For many years, even prior to the NEOC, we have been witness to seasons end. It never gets easier to say goodbye but we have learned with the goodbyes come exciting and brighter hellos. We feel honored to be able to say that, literally, we have watched many of our now main event fastest racers start out on 50's and in the entry level classes. We have watched them grow from young nervous little wanna be racers to very mature, fast and skilled competitive racers who take full pride and honor in being good role models for the new generation of NEOC wanna be racers. It's the "Pass it on" effect at work right in front of us. Saturday morning the field was full and sign ups were busy before we even opened for business. 11am Tutor Time started the days events over by the table top. This program is working so we will be keeping it for next season. High Noon 41 Tikes on Bikes came to the start. This has turned out to be one of our biggest lines at the events. Who would ever of thought the tikes would grow so large in numbers, diversity and skill that we would need to split such beginner program into groups. We not only had to split it into classes but made two seperate courses. One for bikes and one for quads. At our last two races we saw a few kids that most definitely are able to move up to the regular racing classes in 2011. It's pretty cool how quickly and eager they are to learn and excel at riding. They become ready way before the parents are ready, lol, thats for sure! 1pm our Oil Injected classes were the first to break ties and secure their year end places for season three of the NEOC. 7-8 OI winner #84 Mark Brogen had an incedible battle for the win against second place #515 Hunter Keen. Third place and 2010 class Champion #316 Jonathan Miller capped the year off nicely. 4-6 OI winner and tie breaker for the class Champion #237 Tyler Kowalski ran his KTM to it's fullest power. Second #89 Wayne Cox ran equally as hard for a great podium finish. Great racing boys. #998 Dalton Camp reached down deep and believed he could one day finish in the top ten for a plaque. Well, he topped all his dreams for an amazing third place. Racing is 90% mental. When you're focused and believe in yourself then there are no limits. Great job Dalton. Congratulations to all of our Oil Injected racers for your accomplishments this year. 3pm is key time for the PeeWee racers. Brian gave them their last 10 second count for the season and the same for Todd with the green flag. It's emotional, don't think its not. They see at every event what these young racers are doing and to know its coming to a close does tear at your heart strings. You're not human if it doesn't. 7-9 65 had #26 Kyle Tino take the win and the year end championship. #38 Brandon Gahm secured second with #202 Michael Shaw locking in third. Normally the 65's have always been the dominate force in the PW division, however, this year things have changed quite a bit in that department. Since the inception of our Thumper class we have seen an upset in the overalls. We all know that an adult either prefers a 2 stroke or 4 stroke as his/her steed of choice to compete well on. A child is no different. By giving them the choice to compete to their fullest abilitly on a bike they love has given way to 4 strokes equally being in the top overall spots. They have become a part of the elite racers in the PWs. Second overall and Thumper class winner #618 Cortney Abrams left her mark for the year. Second place and third overall #165 Nico Marts finished just ahead of class champion #125 Chris Blackburn. 4-8 50 winner and sixth overall #41 Jason Tino brought home a matching championship as his Bros. Hope you guys have a big mantel at home. Fighting hard for his second place finish #185 Johnny Manera came to the flags before #136 Colby Davis. What a great battle all year boys. Our 10-12 EL winner and class champion #460 Beau Hickman started out as a wide eyed deer in the head lights sitting on the line last year but somewhere along the trail he reached down deep and found Beau's Monster Buck! Second place #813 Adam Exel put in a good charge to keep his spot against #444 Colin McCollough. Our Entry Level classes were designed to give the beginner kids a chance to run for a championship with racers at their own level. In the process it has inadvertantly created an entire wave of completely focused and hungry racers that strive to be better at every event. 4-9 EL winner and class champion #117 Ryan Gross is also a member of G.N.T NEOC racing team champion. Second #288 Craig Cossaboon locked in second place with #749 Kyle Plimmer securing third. This has been a record breaking year for our PWs not just in numbers but with skill level and accomplishments for all of them. We couldn't be prouder or more excited about next years season. 5pm and it's time for the last gathering of all the bucks this season. they must challenge the rival bucks for final dominance. Mega buck #85 Ryan Klair locked horns with every buck that entered his marked territory and came out as King of these Woods. One flinch or stumble and young Buck #130 Russ Sheppard would have taken the crown. Third overall and Mega Buck #44 Alan Jessat is the maturist and most experienced buck out there and every young buck try to beat him to the bait pile. Second young buck and fourth overall #393 Philip Morshead was part of the herd trying to catch Jessat. #737 Joey Sumpter from the Big Slam Daddy class duked it out with fellow BSD #75 Robert Robbins to take the win. #102 Sammy Hansen was our first 12 pointer pro to muscle through the herd for the finish. A dominate force to be reckoned with has no horns but has a set of something because #615 Shawn Davidson of the Does came in seventeenth overall out of 68 strong. Top Ruttin buck was and is #906 Jeremy Williams. In our youth pits Spike class we had a mix for names in the lead. The top three came through in this order #122 Dillan Abrams, #388 Cody Reeves and #138 Maverick Reiner. It was a great battle for the win. #185 Johnny Manera was and is the lead button buck. Once the crazy herd went to bed down for the night we had 15 beautiful mama does take a stroll around the trail just to keep the big bucks on their toes. The last Saturday races of season three were complete. The course was changed over for Sundays events and everyone was ready to have a little fun. By nightfall everything was in full swing, the Hammer Heads were jammin' out their rockin tunes, orange and yellow lights were strung throughout the camps with ghoulish creatures lurking about with funnel cake powder was on everyones face. Our last saturday night of season three was a straight up carnival party. Trick or treaters were grazing about each site for more goodies to add up at the end of the night. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect way to close out the year. Thank you for taking part in all of our crazy ideas all the time. 6am Sunday morning I walked outside to go have some coffee with Pammy. The air was so brisk and chilly that I just had to take that first deep breath of fall air to fill my lungs with. When my head was tilted back I opened my eyes to a complete star gazers dream. The big and little dipper, the milky way and I swear I saw the NEOC Wave lit up right above us. It was going to be a good day. Theresa, Phil & Todd were already on the move. By 7am sign ups was a steady stream and the smell of bacon was swirling around. Brian was on Ol' Nelly hauling dirt some where while Vern and Gary set out on the course to make sure it was ready for the youth. Chuckie cleared his throat and began to croon us. Eric, Jay and Robbie opened tech and never stopped all day. Shag, Joe, John and the boys went out to man their stations on the course. 8:30am all the sweepers were lined up with their designated class to ride behind. The last 10 count for them echoed off the steel sign up building, Todd raised the green flag and a 120+ riders headed straight at Amy K for the holeshots. First group to fly by Amy was the AA Youth and boy did they fly. A great win went to #109 Thorn Devlin leaving second to #2 Jeffery Hall and third to class champion #1 Robbie Civiletti. 12-15 100 winner and fourth overall #336 Ryder Lafferty did a great job holding off class champion #23 Jake Butterly and third place #795 Fransico Held. #666 J-Rod owned the 14-15 85 class today just like we all knew he could. Way to charge kiddo! A strong second went to #695 Jacob Hemmis and third to #240 Nick Derkinderen. In the 12-13 85 #122 Dillan Abrams took a great win over class champion #906 Jeremy Williams followed up by the Chief #543 Tanner Barnhardt. #158 Earl Miller took a commanding lead in the 10-11 85 over class champion #312 Sal Cusimano and #90 Malcolm Hill, which these two absolutley battled straight to the flag. 13-15 150 had a very competitive race between the top two but int he end #311 Rian Lamanteer got to the flag before #289 Kevin Adams. Third place and class champion went to #909 Johnathan Hiles. 10-11 65 win was locked in by #140 Brock Lore leaving second to #363 Steven Green and third to class champion #98 Matthew Cropper. Helping to take G.N.T race team to the championship was first place 10-12 125 #292 Tyler Tayvinsky. #412 Tyler Pilcher and #50 Brandon Cronin closed out the podium finish. Taking her first win after a great battle ELW #143 Amanda Stites fought hard against #314 Emily Zadroga. This battle lasted all season and ended at the monster buck. Awesome racing girls. A solid third place went to #344 Alicyn Coulter. Class champion went to #712 Keirsten McDonal. Many of our youth are moving into new classes or heading up to the adults. Our youth has set the bar high for all youth that come to compete. 2011 is going to be off the hook and unpredictable when it comes to who is going to take the wins. I can't wait. Thanks for an awesome year guys! 11am is key time for our C riders and they are always the group to keep us on our toes and busy the whole hour and a half they race. They are the biggest group with the biggest bikes. the top two dogs at our final C event came to the flag as one machine with only half a knobby separating them. From the Industry & Mechanincs class #789 Mike Crum and #29 Dale Hiles made Todd use a crow bar when throwing the checkered flag. Cool finish guys. B Super Senior class champion #324 Carl Rubino topped the season off with a solid win. Class Champion and winner for the women went to rookie racer #615 Shawn Davidson. C Heavy #444 Michael Purificato took the win and championship but second #445 Michael Crist made him work for the checkered on this day. No doubt about that. C 4 Stroke win was taken by #783 Jonathan Edel and challenged by #590 Shaun Polo. Third place and class champion went to #118 Jeff Pettit. Way to fight for it boy! C Light #153 Ethan Jaudas took a solid win over #411 David Pilchers second place. C Vet had a change for the top name name #963 Brad Rothenbiller took a nice win over second #530 Brian Roscoe. C Senior and future B senior #613 John Manera took the win by a lap lead and the class championship. We have many C riders that have progressed rapidly and will be heading to the main event. I am sure you're very nervous but believe me, you guys are capable of riding and competing in this event. Be proud of your accomplishments not nervous. 1:30pm is key time for our Main Event crew. This is the most anticipated and serious event of the weekend. These are wicked fast and skilled racers that are not only competing for class points but an overall position to be the best as well. Todd and Chuckie gave the last call and raised flag for the season. AA #356 Ryan Rodger was top overall but only by a knobby above #8 Jesse Groemm. Third overall and AA #1 Rich Lafferty help make our final race of the season a great one to watch with him dicing it out with our boys. Breat to see you on the line. A Heavy winner, fifth overall, class champion and 2011 AA contender #306 Kyle McDonal has left his final tread in the minor leagues. A Light winner, sixth overall, class champion, 2010 NEOC Overall King and 2011 AA contender #326 Kenny Tenner has worked hard to take front line postition next to his friend Kyle. Hey, you want to hear a few of the names for AA next year..."The Bomber, Too Tall, Wildman, The Rocket, The Power House", lol, I already have goose bumps just thinking about the lineup. Our A Vet top runners came from New England representing Team KTM and they did it well. First place #872 Jeff Staples diced it out with his team mate #449 Gordon Mullauey. Hope to see you guys back next year. Thanks for making the trip. Now our A Senior class had us screaming the entire two hours. The top two winners were tied for the championship coming into this last event and they made sure it was coming down to the final second and flag too. The outcome by a visor was #328 Andy Bylsma taking the win and championship over #73 Vern Wood. What an incredible race. Senior my A$$! A Super Senior winner was #16 Henry Knabe. B Heavy #600 Bill Watson had a nice lead over class champion #910 Darren Huff. Our B Light winner used to be one of our youth leaders until he grew to big so it was super cool to see him competing with all the big boys #295 Tegan Temple has officially entered the main event. Our B Light class champion #504 Tanner Thomas rode in the A Light to challenge himself one last time before entering the AA ranks for 2011 alongside of Kyle & Kenny. He did well, as we knew he would. Our school boy winner rode his best race ever #199 Zack Gallo dropped the hammer and never looked back. Second #40 Nicky McCollough entered the pack half season becasue he too grew so much but man did he make up for lost time. Third place and class champion #612 Brent Robbins rode a smart and strong race. This was B Vet #97 Tony Shaws second win this year with us. Second place and the final man to take Team G.N.T Racing to the championship was #914 Erik Gross. Job Well Done. B Senior winner #662 Frank Smith had a nice lead in the end over class champion #38 Randy Hentges which came in only a hair ahead of X-C rider #151 Dan May. Age is only a number. It should never stop you from challenging yourself or allowing yourself to move forward on something you want. Of course, thats not saying you won't need those pain patches or 500mg of IBP and a nice long nap when your done..... Well I can only speculate but with an educated guess I would say that our main event is going to be the biggest it's ever been and the most competitive on the east coast. Each class will have fresh blood moving up into them and many new numbers are on the way. Thank you for a great 2010 season of racing and we truly are looking forward and anticipating next season and all that it brings. 2011 looks brighter and bigger for the NEOC. We have installed new upgraded seat belts to go along with the additions to this ride we're on so buckle up tight folks 'cause there is a Nor'easter headin for shore that's never been seen before! See everyone at the banquet. Have a safe Halloween and Deliciously Happy Thanksgiving with your family. |
