Special Thanks to: Lovely Lois & Mean Gene for allowing us to come in and use their land. Moose Racing, Scott USA, Acerbis, Fairway Cycle, Riders Choice, Offroad Cycle, Racers Edge, Spectro Oils, Tim D Photo, Water Gap Coffee Co., Moto Cloth, Flyin' Farmers, Jeff Hall for Victory Lane & All of the NEOC Staff & Volunteers that made this race so great. A very special thanks to all that donated money to the Herrschaft Children.

Well I reckon if you're ever in a drought just invite the NEOC to put on an event and your sure to have rain and plenty of it. We had 4+ inches between Thursday and Friday. Yep, the boys had their work cut out for them on this one (not that it was different then any other event, lol) The phrase "grab a shovel 'cause we need to go dig another drainage ditch" was said clear into Saturday. With the new lake that formed in the gravel pit we had to relocate the pitting area up top, which worked out just fine and as it turns out so did the entire weekend. Mother Nature gave us just the right amount of rain to make perfect riding conditions on this terrain. i never doubted her for a minute, not even when the tornado alerts came across the TV screen. We have learned this season of racing that "it is what it is" so just suck it up and move on!

Fishing was awesome but it sure was nice to get back to the business of racing. We were shaking the rust off after the long summer break but it only took a cup a coffee and the beautiful sound of motors revving to bring us back to the rhythm of racing. Sign ups went smooth, even when we had to print out more minor release forms because we ran out of the 200 we brought. Thats always a good problem. Scoring was perfect with no protests. The last race ended at 3:30 and we were handing out the awards and sending people on their way by 4:30. The sign up ladies make Lady Theresa & Big Jays scoring job  A LOT easier when they do their job correctly so props to them for always doing a great job. Lovely Lois fed everyone with her fine vittles and fries. Crazy Ted never stopped changing tires except to race and go home. Big Chuckie kept everyone warm, fuzzy and informed all day with his sultry Barry white voice while everyone else made sure the race events rolled along on key time! Between the super cool step up jump that Bill Hall built for all the hot dogs racing and the customized super tight pine section trail boss Vern Wood created, there was plenty of intense bench racing going on all day.

The first race of each event is always our favorite. Tikes on Bikes started at high noon with 13 blank canvass just waiting to paint with bright colors and texture. What a beautiful picture it will be when completed. They had an all wood trail to ride on with some roots and mud to go through. A lot of new faces were on the line and I hope they become faces we know. When finished their ride, Brian and Todd had them take on the hill. down and then back up again. We know some of them tried it at the last Ormond event but they all did it like a pro. There eyes were so focused you could really feel their emotions. It was goose bump great!

1pm a record breaking 37 4-8oi's lined up clear across the state of New Jersey(at least thats what it seemed.) They had a 2 plus mile course with soft sand, hill climbs, woods and wide open trail. Have you ever seen a oil injected bike tapped out? If you watched this race then you did. #228 Michael Beeler got the holeshot and first place. Beeler's buddy #529 Judge Tice battled hard and took the lead 2x to finish a strong second place. Third went to #55 "Wild Child" Tyler Massie after a bar bangin' race with #280 Tommy Lloyd. This was one of the best races all day. We can only espect great things from this group of racers because thats what they keep showing us.

3pm 66 PeeWee's came down to the line to race the same track the OI's just mastered. 7-9 65 top dogs were first place #312 Sal Cusimano and second #20 Ryan "lunch box" Hall and until Ryan lost an arguement with a tree they were going at it like Frazier and Ali. We like to talk about riders that excell at their racing but we love to talk about sportsmanship when we see it and in this race we did. When Ryan wrecked during the race Sal stopped to get him help. His first thought was Ryan not winning the race. That was a class act and true sportsmanship. Thumper class was owned lock, stock  and barrel by #90 Malcolm "High Flyer" Hill. He eats, sleeps and breaths racing. Not only does he want to race anything with wheels, he also wants to help with everything race related. The 4-8 50 king remains in his throne #38 Brandon Gahm. For his second win in the 10-12 EL #197 Nick Layton took it with total control followed up with a solid second was #68 Austin Hentges. HER best finish this season took third place #367 Desirae "Dizzy" Shaw. Great ride girl! Six out of eight for 4-9 EL #618 Cortney Abrams. She is a tough country girl with a sharp competitive edge! We have one race left to watch many of these kids ride in the PeeWee division. Its always very emotional to see them graduate but let me tell you something; THEY ARE READY!

4:30pm the adult pits roared to the line and had a moment of silence for our beloved friend we lost over the summer break. His spot on the line will always belong to him. #747 Tim Herrschaft the TRUE PIT BIKER. The top overall pitsters were like a freight train the entire four laps. This was the order of the cars. Big Slam Daddy #96 Sean Gaughan, BSD #44 Alan Jessat, Young Buck #393 Factory Phil Morshead, YB #40 Nick "thumper" McCollough and BSD #311 Joey Ford. This is good stuff! 22 youth pitsters lined up for three laps of bar to bar fun. Top five overall put on a show for all. First Spike Buck #122 Dillon Abrams ran second until the last lap leaving for SB #90 Malcolm Hill. Solid third for SB #388 Cody "Rockstar" Reeves. First Button Buck to the flag and fourth overall #109 Thorn "Slappy" Devlin but he had his knobbys full of BB #18 Brian McAlinneys front tire. It litterally was a tire to tire finish.

6:30pm the rain started to fall so the band moved under the tent and fired up the strings. We had to cancel the coyote ride but the band played til 10pm and we rocked all night. Birthday Girl Kathy Gandy(199's Mom) and her posse were cuttin the rug (hay) to the Hammer Heads tunes. Those that weren't up their watchin' the band were kickin' back at camp listening to the natural surround sound. Saturday night at the races should always be fun. It helps set the mood for Sunday Morning.

6am I smelled the coffee brewing, peaked under the shade with my one good eye and saw lady theresa and the workin man moving around setting up for the days events. I drug myself off the bunk, Brian handed me my  coffee to help open my other eye and by 7am things were in full swing. Blue skies and smiles were every where you looked. the sound of bikes being prepped could be heard all day- its a good and comforting sound for us like rain on a tin roof or waves washing on the shore.

8:30am our amazing youth flooded the already flooded gravel pit. What a beauitful sight it was. AA Youth was the first class to start the day and gave the best battle of the day. First place #504 Tanner "Wildman" Thomas had a paint scrapin' battle with second #95 Chase Rusden. They swapped places every lap. Good boys-Great Racing. 12-15 100 #564 Robbie Civilette held first the whole race. #30 Trevor Stevens worked his way up from the back to take second by seconds over third #191 Zach Gallo. 14-15 85 had the door slammed by #91 Michael Ward for his fifth win with us. Well the 12-13 85 has become a very special class to us. we have seen many of these racers since their first race ever grow in skill and size to take a win this year and todays winner was no different. #132 Joey Ferraro, who has been Brian's buddy forever and a day, gave us great pride to call his name with first place! #36 Chris "Flash" Gordon fought hard and took a well earned second. #195 Daniel Gaven took third place for the second time for a nice boost in points. 10-11 85 first place #109 Thorn " Slappy" Devlin took it for the fifth time for a good push in points too. Second place #51 Ryder Lafferty definitly suits his name- first and last. 13-15 150 winner #488 William Pierce took it and ran. Second #694 Julian Harris kept his place over points leader #777 Andrew Alcorn by a knobby. 10-11 65 for the first time this season had a new name take the win #910 River " Fly" Sewell. #289 Kevin "Army" Adams took another win for 8 in a row with one more to go! ELW had a bomb dropped in on them when #712 Keirsten McDonal (the bombers lil' sis) took the holeshot and kept the lead for the win. Shaa-Bang! The next three places were traded more then baseball cards. It was a GREAT battle in the girls class. Here's how it fell #629 Samantha Hill, #615 Shawn Davidson and #302 Miranda Kendrick. Look out boys, they're getting better with every race.

11am a record 157 C riders thundered to the start and B Super Senior let the roost fly when Big Chuckie dropped the flag. There were a lot of hot dogs in this event stylin' over the step up for all the spectators watching. It was a great show. First overall was C Heavy #301 Ryan Nardy which gave him a bump up in the points. Second C Heavy was a newby #520 Chris Uniatowski but lets hope he is here to stay. Third overall and first B Super Senior to the flag points leader #909 David Baechtold. Don't ever let the super senior label fool ya. Fourth overall and third C Heavy #59 Jeremy Jones gave it his all to keep his place in points but is down by two now. A lot of places in over half of the 41 classes are coming down to the last race. Another nail biter year. fifth and first C Light #202 Johnathan Davis has the championship locked up. Look out main event, here he comes.

By 1:30 it was hot and the track was packed just right and the tight woods were good and hammered in by all the C guys. It was ready to be rode fast and hard. after driving all night from an Enduro X in the Carolinas the Rodger Brothers still managed to take top 2 overall. Thank you for taking the trip to ride with us. AA #5 Eric, #356 Ryan then third overall was now 15 year old #459 "Ol' Huff Daddy" Shane Hufford. First A Light and fourth overall #29 Jesse "the Power House" Groemm like to scare the dickens outta me jumping the step up. He landed out 25+ feet then did a bunny hop around the corner and into the woods. Good gravy boy! First B rider and sixth overall to the flag was B Heavy #240 Kyle Bylsma. A Heavy had a great battle for the finish between family. First #737 Joe Sumpter and second #311 Joey Ford. That was a lot of fun to watch. I gotta give a shout out to School boy winner and twelth overall #130 Russ "The Dog" Sheppard for taking his first win in the main event. Awesome riding.

It was a fine weekend of racing but it was an even better weekend for bench racing and hanging out with everyone that came. We had a lot of new faces and old faces that took home the 2010 applications. It is so exciting thinking about the start of our third season with so many great families looking forward to the next season too. Our last event will be bitter sweet because it is ending but man o man ever sweet to think about starting next spring with all the great things we have planned for everyone!

See everyone October 3rd for the Last race of our Season. We have a lot of things planned so we hope you come and help us end it with a memorable time.
