The Challenge of Adversity & Diversity builds the Character to Overcome.

There is no doubt that this was a tough event for all riders.....even the sweepers-Shout out to Mike Kearney from Offroad Cycle & all the vikings in the woods. The NEOC North made this event happen.

The course was off camber, rocky, fast grass tracks, awesome MotoX track, technical & total test to man. The heat hit all of us off gaurd & hard. We thank all the young guns of the youth series that we sent out to help the adult riders make it off the mountain side safe.

This was the first round of the triple crown and this event was definitely worthy of that title because if you won your class or just survived the race you accomplished a great feat. From the youngest rider to the oldest  & the beginner to the skilled, our hats are off to you each and every one of you for facing this brutal Nor'east storm head on.

It was great to see a packed parking lot of familiar faces and rigs. Saturday night everyone was hangin out and having a little fun. Saturday nights movie time was super cool watching the PeeWees and Pit Bikes on the big tent top.

Wind burn on Saturday followed up with sun burn on Sunday then throw a little poison ivy, sweat, chapped lips & dirt in the mix and you got yourself one sweet puppy to look at in the mirror on the ride home.

The Peewees were the first to go out and conquer the mountian and they proved to be just as tough as the adults. No one can ever say that the PeeWees got it easy because we give it to them the same as we do the rest and do you want to know why? I will tell you...The Peewees have Heart, Grit, Determination and Passion, thats why! They don't know they can't do something unless you tell them and they will NEVER hear that from us.

The Pit Bikers went out at 5pm and had some fun on the same course the PWs ran on. They came back muddy, banged up, tired and all smiles. These guys are just a hoot to watch ride. It ends saturday on a positive note to start sunday out the right way.

Sunday Morning started bright and early as usual but the days events would prove to anything but that! 8:30am the flag dropped and the AA Youth took the first turn to the mounatin side. When they entered back on the track it looked like they went through one big sippy hole covered in mud. These kids never cease to amaze us with their skill and riding ability. Every class had a bar to bar battle and it was the toughest most technical course to date. Even though some might think they were beat by the mountain, they couldn't be more wrong because just the simple fact that you went out and faced it knowing after the first lap what was waiting for them the rest of the race, you still tried and didn't give up willingly, made you the owner of that mountain.

11am the C guys were lined up apprehensive and nervously excited after seeing what the youth looked liked at the end of their event. They rode the same  4.8 mile technical course, minus one small piece that had to be cut out. The temperature had started rising by this time and taking its toll on the riders. The course was tough but the heat is really what made this event so hard. Our C riders consist of beginner adults and youth that have just moved up and these guys are really putting on a great show with a lot of close racing. Sometimes its a mind game and a true test of your will just to get to the next level and that is what makes the difference at the end of the day. We will be proud to see a lot of these riders move up to the main event next year.

We had guys help with the youth event then go ride the C event, make changes for the main event and the heat took its toll on our guys too. You guys weren't the only ones throwing up in the woods feeding the birds. 1:36pm the green flag dropped and it was hotter then the hinges of hell when the AA guys headed for the mountain top. These guys had a 6.7 mile loop to survive. It was cool to see then come off the mountain knowing full well what they just faced and still fly over those jumps the way they did. Absolutley awesome. We started getting reports of over heated riders and bikes in the woods and that is when we sent a team of youngins in the woods to help the adult riders and boy did they stand up to the challenge. Kid Power is an awesome thing. The guys in the main event are all true ironmen.

We thank all of you for coming out to the valley and supporting the NEOC. A special thanks to Irish Valley and its crew for working so hard to help make this event an absolute success.
